Another round of the Minnesota PIPELINE (Private Investment, Public Education, Labor and Industry Experience) Program grant applications opens April 16th, with over $3 million available statewide to fund dual-training experiences.
Applications must come directly from employers and can fund training (up to $6,000 per employee, $150,000 per employer) for new hires or incumbent workers in four designated high-growth industries:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Agriculture
- Health Care Services
- Information Technology
“A dual-training experience is a structured educational system for an employee that follows a list of guidelines to improve on-the-job-performance, employee occupation credentials and improve wages,” states the PIPELINE page of the Department of Labor and Industry’s website.
Employees of participating employers qualify for the grant as long as they follow a compiled list of industry specific competency standards while participating in related instruction and on-the-job training.
