Based on Minnesota’s Iron Range, Desiree Yourczek is the first point of contact for employers and candidates in:
- The counties of Aitkin, Itasca, and Koochiching in MN
- Northern and mid St. Louis County (Minnesota’s Iron Range)
- Desiree coordinates with her Twin Ports counterpart Ali Bilden Camps to serve Lake & Cook Counties in MN
Desiree grew up on the Iron Range and graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Prior to joining the NORTHFORCE Team, she worked in digital marketing and coordinated closely with local tourism organizations to promote our region. She also co-founded ReGen, the Iron Range-based nonprofit dedicated to connecting people and building a vibrant Iron Range through events and networking activities.
Here’s a quick Q&A with Desiree!
How did you hear about NORTHFORCE?
I first heard about NORTHFORCE in 2014 through community building efforts I was involved in and started using it to help find talent for the company I was working for at the time. I was even featured in a NORTHFORCE promo video!
Fast forward six years, I was working in the Twin Cities area and looking for a job to move back to the Iron Range. Since I had used NORTHFORCE before, I knew that would be the best spot to find the type of position I was looking for. And luckily, NORTHFORCE itself happened to have this position open at the time!
The hiring process through NORTHFORCE was very seamless. I applied and heard back from Northspan President & CEO Elissa Hansen shortly after to schedule my first interview. Everything was really quick and straightforward.
How’s it going & what’s your favorite part about working with NF?
It’s been going great! My favorite part about working with NORTHFORCE so far is definitely the NF team. Even though most of us are remote based, we still maintain a really supportive culture.
What keeps you #NorthByChoice?
My community. The Iron Range is so special to me because of the people that live and work here. There is a passion here to help our communities and keep this area as a great place to live – and I love being a part of making that happen!
