Northforce is a program of The Northspan Group, Inc., a non-profit corporation at 202 W Superior St, Suite 600, Duluth, MN 55802. This notice explains what information we collect when you use Northforce, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information You Provide
Account information. Your name, email address, and — if you choose to sign in by phone — your mobile number.
Candidate profile. Work history, education, skills, job categories, desired pay, and the regions where you want to work. You choose what to include.
Resumes. If you upload a resume, we store it and read it to suggest profile fields.
Employer information. Company details, contact information, and the content of job postings.
Communications. Anything you send us through the platform or by email.
2. Information Collected Automatically
We collect basic usage information when you use Northforce: pages and jobs viewed, approximate location from your device or the region you select, browser and device type, and diagnostic data when something goes wrong. This helps us understand what works and fix what does not.
3. Automated Resume Reading
When you upload a resume, its text is sent to a third-party artificial intelligence service that extracts structured details such as employers, job titles, dates, and skills. These are shown to you as suggestions. Nothing is saved to your profile until you review and confirm it.
Automated extraction is imperfect and should be checked. Your resume is not used to train artificial intelligence models.
4. How We Use Your Information

5. Legal Bases
Where required by law, we process your information on these bases: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time; performance of our agreement with you; our legitimate interests in operating and improving Northforce; and compliance with legal obligations.
6. Who We Share It With
Employers. When you apply to an opening, your profile and application go to that employer. Depending on your sharing settings, employers may also find your profile when searching for candidates. Employers agree to use candidate information only to evaluate candidates for employment, and not to sell it or use it for marketing.
Service providers. We rely on third parties to run Northforce: database and authentication hosting, email delivery, text message delivery, mapping and address lookup, automated resume reading, analytics, and error monitoring. They may process your information only to provide those services to us.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Text Messaging and Mobile Information
Northforce may send text messages to a mobile number you provide, including one-time login and account verification codes.
You opt in by entering your mobile number on the Northforce sign-in screen and requesting a code. Messages are sent only in response to your request. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Message frequency varies with how often you sign in.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; you can still sign in using your email address. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at acamps@northspan.org. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Email
We send account email you need in order to use Northforce, such as sign-in links and password resets. We also send a periodic job digest, which you can unsubscribe from using the link in any digest. Unsubscribing from the digest does not stop account email.
9. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how Northforce is used, including third-party analytics and error monitoring. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of Northforce may stop working if you do.
Most browsers offer a Do-Not-Track setting. No uniform standard for responding to those signals has been finalized, so we do not currently respond to them. If a standard is adopted, we will update this notice.
10. How Long We Keep It
We keep your information while your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
11. Security
We protect your information with access controls, encryption in transit, and restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Minors
Northforce is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
13. Your Rights and Choices
You may review and edit your profile at any time, change your sharing settings, unsubscribe from the job digest, opt out of text messages by replying STOP, or ask us to delete your account.
Deleting your account removes your profile from employer search. Applications already sent to an employer remain with that employer.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact acamps@northspan.org. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
14. California Residents
California residents may request, once per year and free of charge, information about personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
California residents also have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. To make a request, contact acamps@northspan.org.
15. Changes to This Notice
We may update this notice. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify you directly.
